Hi, the great ping debacle goes on. It seems that drupal will only ping if a cron run reports new content on the frontpage. Which could account for the lack of pinging I experienced when I put new content on the blog pages only (i don't particularly want all my blogs to be posted to the front page, although I suppose from an SEO perspective it is not a bad thing - dynamically changing content etc).

Problem is, the blog posts are still not finding their way onto Google Blog Search, which makes me question whether the ping module is doing its thing at all. Not really any way of telling and no one has answered my post yet on the forum.

I have decided that, until someone makes a decent, configurable ping module I shall just use www.pingates.com to manually ping the blog page details to several decent ping servers, including google.
